The DA is charging the cop who shot Rayshard Brooks (the guy who punched officers in the face, stole their weapons, then used the stolen weapons on the officers) with murder, saying Brooks "never presented himself as a threat."

The fuck? Just so we are all clear now:

Driving drunk
Physically resisting arrest
Punching officers in the face
Stealing their weapons
Running from police with said stolen weapons
Using said stolen weapons on police

Is no longer considered a "threat." We're about to see a whole shitload of police quit and other people never get into policing to begin with. Why the fuck would they? Their only options now in the face of an ACTUAL DANGEROUS PERSON who is PHYSICALLY ATTACKING THEM AND USING WEAPONS ON THEM is to either sit back and take it and hope they survive, or use lethal force and possibly face life in prison.

The DA is throwing 11 charges at the officer, hoping one of them will stick.

He's also being charged with "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon."

This is just all around disgusting.

Appears this may be the second man this particular officer shot in the back. Going to need more proof of that than the few articles trickling in.

I'm torn on it. Dude put himself in the position by resisting arrest, being aggressive, and stealing a taser.

He was already patted down, so by the time he's running away - officers no longer can say they feared for their lives. If they'd shot him on the ground during the struggle it could be reasonable to argue he was going for a gun. Instead - he got what the police classified as a non deadly weapon, meaning legally the officer is fucked.

Just wait until LEOs stop community services and just go to crimes after they've been committed. Great time to be a criminal right now. I mean, all the rioters and vandals got away with it, lets just let people drive drunk, fall asleep behind the wheel, burn down businesses, beat people they don't agree with, do drugs, etc, etc, etc.
