I think it's fairly irrelevant to impeachment. And he's not accused, he's admitted to misusing the funds.

As part of the settlement, Mr. Trump, who at first dismissed the suit as a political attack, made 19 detailed admissions, acknowledging, for example, that the foundation had purchased the $10,000 portrait of himself that was ultimately displayed at one of his Florida hotels.

He admitted to using the foundation’s money to settle obligations of some of his for-profit companies, including a golf club in Westchester County, N.Y., and Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Florida which he frequently visits.

And he admitted that the foundation had given his presidential campaign control over about $2.8 million that the foundation had raised at a veterans fund-raiser in Iowa in January 2016. Mr. Trump acknowledged the fund-raiser was in fact a campaign event.

The Trump Foundation, which Mr. Trump founded in 1987, disbanded last December after an investigation by Barbara Underwood, then-acting attorney general of New York. Ms. Underwood’s office found “unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more.”

It is illegal for charitable foundations to advance the self-interests of their executives.

Why are you leaving out the part about this being a shakedown and the judge even admitting the money went to the charities they were supposed to go to?

Or that for example the portrait that was bought was actually bought at a charity auction?

Trump settled that lawsuit just to get it over with. Even the judge on the case recognized that the money Trump's charity raised went to the people it was supposed to go to. The whole thing was yet another Democrat shakedown because ORANGE MAN BAD!

Here's the actual document submitted to the court showing the Trump foundation donated the money to veteran's charities in 2016, the liquidation and 2 million dollars is in ADDITION to the money the foundation had already donated.

Scarpulla said that she found that the $2.8 million raised at the Iowa fundraiser “was used for Mr. Trump’s political campaign and disbursed by Mr. Trump’s campaign staff, rather than by the Foundation, in violation” of several laws. Yes they got Trump on a technicality because the state wasted so many resources investigating Trump that the best they could come up with is he raised money for veteran charities but they didn’t like the way it was handled, not because he supposedly stole money from veteran groups like the media lied about and that you apparently went along with because it suits your world view.

It's beyond hilarious how Democrats are holding the articles of impeachment until the mean Republicans in the senate show proof of a "fair trial." Since when does the government and prosecution get to demand a "fair trial", isn't that something that the accused is guaranteed? The Democrats, who have been shitting all over our democracy for over 3 years, are somehow acting like the victims in this impeachment sham.
