“This job is from an economic — you know, I get a kick out of these people saying ‘Oh, a rich Arab stayed at his hotel,’ you know, I’ll bet you between opportunity cost and actual cost, you know but I lost massive amounts of money doing this job. This is not the money. This is, this is one of the great losers of all time. You know fortunately I don’t need money. This is one of the great losers of all time. But they’ll say that somebody from some country stayed at a hotel. And I’ll say ‘Yeah’ But I lose, I mean, the numbers are incredible.”

It makes me laugh that we have such an inarticulate person as president that literally no one can make sense of what he's trying to convey.

    Okay.
You mean the same VICE news that Robert Murdoch dumped 70 million into?

Yeah. They target millennials, who happen to use adblockers. I wasn't sure if they primarily got their cash through agreements with HBO or if it's mainly driven by ads.

What they don't realize is most people just rage off headlines and never read the article. Evidence- Every FB comment section ever.

So what exactly are you saying? Why do you think these companies are having to lay people off lately? Certainly it has to be people are clicking less. Why are people clicking less? Is it because they LOVE clickbait headlines that end up being dumb shit 50% of the time and fake news the other 50% of the time?

This isn't a car company like you laughably tried to use as an analogy. There are many factors for why a car company could be having trouble; increased cost of materials, increased cost of labor, labor shortages, strikes, difficulty breaking into a market, bad crash safety ratings, bad car design, etc etc.

A news company (and I use the term lightly in this case) that is entirely based on the internet and requires ad revenue means doesn't leave much up for debate as to why they are losing money. Newsprint largely went out of style because people were favoring online content, so why are people falling out of favor with these online content providers that are largely all about clickbait headlines? Just give me something to hang my hat on here.

I honestly think the market is overly saturated.

They're an acquisition company. Those types of companies lay people off all the time. Add in sexual harassment lawsuits and a recent change in leadership and you have the perfect storm for restructuring. They over extended and are now reeling it back in.
