If you think that the main takeaway from that moment is that we're just unhappy with the person they voted for- think again.
Having said that, given the same people are refusing to acknowledge the abject racism that Trump ran on- yeah, that also invites criticism. The man put white white nationalists in his White House- in high level positions. (not to mention his campaign) He used the racist Birther lie to fuel his political rise. He attacked Muslims, Mexicans, and Africans as core pieces of his platform. He retweeted white supremacist iconography (Pepe the frog anyone?) and posts repeatedly. He put a man like Jeff Sessions in charge of the DoJ- which is no longer protecting affirmative action for students of color and is, instead, suing schools for using it. He took weeks to disavow David Duke, and his takeaway from Charlotte was "There are good people in both sides". He repeatedly talks about immigrants as violent criminals (even though they commit violent crimes at a rate lower than that of people who were born here)
So let's just stop playing pretend here. You can have voted for Trump and still be adult enough to acknowledge the obvious. No one is entitled to respect for their choices if they can't own up to them.
