When you give up your job there's a certain level of trust that the other person who is the breadwinner will continue to pay all bills, including your own. I had pretty bad PPA after having my son so I basically handed over all control. Turns out my accounts were last to be paid or not at all. And it's not because we're poor, either, it simply was apparently not a priority. I didn't discover it even until I got a collections threat from my student loan company and decided to pull my credit report. I am never giving up my career or financial control again, this shit is seriously a nightmare. I could rant for days but thankfully I know a lot of tricks for bumping credit quickly.
