It's about the decisions that are made in this country that affect hundreds of millions of people.

I have a lot more respect for the people who voted directly for Trump than the people who voted for Jill Stein. At least the Trump supporters were being true to their vision. Stein supporters did the exact opposite of that, and they did the Green party no favors.

Um, maybe they were being true to their vision? Maybe they wanted Jill Stein? Maybe they wanted the Green Party to hit that magical 5% for federal election funding? Again, it is THEIR choice who to vote for. They have this freedom. People in our history have died to safeguard this right. Who the hell are you to tell them, or anyone else, they should be ashamed for who they did or didn't vote for.

a) you said this: "documentation from the US Government saying you are here legally" - that usually doesn't mean state governments. It means federal. Hence my interpretation of what you said.

b) there are a whole lot of states that are not yet compliant with the requirements of Real ID. https://www.dhs.gov/current-status-states-territories

I mean, maybe states will do it soon and it's not an issue, but it seems to me it's hard to trust a state legislature to get its act together to pass the funds needed for the change. And of course, how do all these money transfer outlets verify the DL/state ID are real? Equip them with scanners? Who pays? Are the scanners able to read all states and territories' DLs/IDs?

The US Government issues paperwork to someone that is here legally that will be necessary to obtain a DHS compliant ID card. If you live in a state that does not have DHS compliant ID, then move, you already moved from another country, what matters another state. I know this seems harsh, but we are a sovereign nation, it is not our responsibility to make it ridiculously easy for people to immigrate.

As for the ID's themselves, if you have one you can look at it and it will have indicators and a watermark on it that shows it is DHS compliant.

Clinton lost this all on her own and has no one to blame but herself. Blaming the Green Party or Libertarian Party is preposterous.

The people have spoken, and they want something completely different than politics as usual. Clinton represented that politics as usual. It will be tough for him to deliver, but we'll see what happens.

The best candidate won. Perhaps the DNC should have selected a better candidate. Third parties aren't new... how did Obama pull it off for two elections?

That is the big scary problem. A party has full control of the executive branch. They can do any crazy idea they want and push it down on us.

You dont need bipartisan support or the party of no. You have bush era coincidences and a similar idea to cut taxes. When you have full executive power majority you have to be restrained and i dont see either party with this position not just blasting through their equity immediately.

Repeal the affordable care act? Likely. 20 million uninsured. Good for some, bad for others, a regression without a true replacement.

Cut taxes on the wealthy? We already did. Lets double it! Great recession 2.0?

Roe v. Wade. Gone?

Patriot act 2.0? Drones over America? Who knows.

This is why the other half of America is scared. The Republican half seemed angry.

I hope they can deliver, but this feels like Bush all over again right down to the stunner of a defeat.

Wait until Trump uses the IRS as a weapon just like Obama. That's gonna be the icing on the cake.

Second, I believe both parties need a revolution - Trump, hate him or don't, has changed the Republican party forever and has the potential to do significant good for the country and the part. The democrats need their own revolutionary candidate, as Obama was not the one.

The Democrats had Bernie Sanders. It's unfortunate they felt the need to rig the system and cheat him out of winning the nomination.
