Journalism? Really? As for TV and movies, like I alluded to earlier, simply landing in them does not legitimize your acting career. If that were so, we'd all call the likes of Upton, Dan Marino, The Miz, and Mike fucking Tyson actors.



I would summarize the career thusly:

Landed small acting gigs; hey, pretty face and tits, give her a shot!
Failed to make a mark in said gigs.
Picked up as a TV show host; gained fans (fans = ratings, Hollywood/TV loves ratings).
Is inserted more frequently as a bit player in more mainstream shows/movies, plus the one she apparently had a bigger role in; Newsroom.

Where do people know her from? G4. As a show host. Her acting failed her (mostly. I'm sure it played a part in being noticed or considered for the hosting job). Look, people like to see the Uptons and Whitelys (the transformer chick) and if they have a large fan base, they'll land in movies and whatnot.

Sorry, but that's like the ONLY thing she's done that hasn't been a one-off and/or small-time. I think Subzero's point was he wished there was a more established actress with greater hype attached to the name, playing Psylocke, so there was character recognition and momentum for spinoff. I doubt there's going to be a repeat of how outstanding Quicksilver was in the previous movie, who's presence, though by a relatively unknown actor was considered their breakout role and garnered them a retarded large fanbase for their acting prowess. But... at least she played in Iron Man 2 =P. She was that random reporter. And she did Attack of the Show for multiple years... which I have no clue what that is, because I don't watch it.

Hollywood can't even get a Wonder Woman movie made. A bit character in a second tier franchise isn't going to get her own spin-off under any circumstances.

To be fair, Wonder Woman is some lame DC shit. Marvel, on the other hand, seems to be trying to give everyone some screen time in their new cinematic universe. Ant Man, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, heh... Howard the Duck (ok, obviously not new, but I couldn't leave the space Duck out), anyone has a chance. Straight honey-badgering it.
