I also mentioned the guy ingesting marijuana and shooting his wife after she called 911 because she was worried he would shoot himself. That doesn't quite rise to the level of jumping off a fourth story balcony or something?

If these are just two incidents of this happening after Colorado legalized marijuana for personal use then obviously this shit happens quite often.

Hell take a look at anything that could possibly be dangerous. Should we get verbal warnings at fat food restaurants over the dangers of obesity? Are you sure you want to supersize that soda, sir?

The point is, if we're going to start rattling off the dumb shit people do while high as a reason it should stay banned, well, one could fill these boards with the craziness of drunks for the next seventy years and not even scratch the surface. Still doesn't mean it should be illegal.

I didn't say marijuana should be outlawed. I said I think we need more/better regulation than some dude at a pot shop saying "Make sure you just take one fifth of this cookie at once."

As I said before I think a huge part of the problem is the legalize crowd usually completely downplays or outright ignores any negative side effects of marijuana (see pk's posts) so you have some people out there who are led to believe that marijuana is 100% safe no matter what and the worst thing that can happen to you is you might raid the fridge at midnight.

Maybe the more regulation that is needed is some straight forward education at the register:

Only eat a fifth of this cookie at once. Hey motherfucker! Listen! I'm fucking serious. One fifth of this motherfucking cookie or you might feel the urge to jump out of the window.

Educating people should never be viewed as a bad thing. Even if it's education on the 100% safe drug known as marijuana.
