Hey, that document says FIVE native Americans! FIVE native Americans got the patent department to fuck with the redskins patent. FIVE offended native Americans.
It's like back when howard stern was on terrestrial radio. All it would take for the FCC to start messing him was one person calling in claiming that they were offended. Out of millions of listeners, one person. Then the FCC would levy fines. Stupid fines, like million dollar fines. Cause someone got offended rather than turning off their radio.

I'm talking about a winner baby! A winner! The redskins have won championships, they're profitable!
This also about Daniel Snyder not wanting to be told what to do with his franchise. Can't say I blame him. And before anyone mentions Donald sterling, this is different.
Although the oilers/titans is a pretty good fit. Look, they changed their name and still made it to the playoffs and even won some titles! Their name change didn't mean they would go on to never win another game!

The oilers and titans have won nothing. They've never won a Super Bowl, let alone 3 like the redskins. Please look into the reason why the oilers moved to Tennessee as well. It was about money. The redskins in 2013 were the 3rd most valuable franchise in the nfl.
3. Washington Redskins - Forbes.com
Team value: $1,700 mil.
Revenue 2012: $381 mil.
Operating income 2012: $ 104.3 mil.
The Redskins organization is riding the momentum of two second-year players, quarterback Robert Griffin III and running back Alfred Morris.
Why would the owner of this company feel the need to change their name? Because of some feelings? Because 5 native Americans are offended, along with a bunch of bored Caucasians, who like to argue on the Internet with strangers?
If they changed the name to the Washington crackers, I could sign off on that. Have the logo be a ritz cracker? Maybe a wheat thin? I love wheat thins! With cheese....

Because it's the right thing to do. His team might as well be named the Washington Nig Nogs and the fans might as well be showing up wearing blackface.
And like I keep suggesting, if you think it's not offensive, or not a racial slur, or that only 5 people are angry about it, head down to the nearest reservation and start calling people redskins. See how far you get.
