I expect it will be quite the stink.
That sounds like a common refrain we've heard at every ACA milestone. So far none have come to pass. It's a huge program. Possibly one of the biggest changes I've seen in my lifetime so ya, there will be confusion and some complaining. Perfection isn't a reality and I think we all agree with that. There's nothing wrong with people learning about withholdings. One of my clients makes 50k a year and just got 12k in tax refunds. He could have had an extra 1k a month to use all year instead of giving Uncle Sam and the State of Colorado an interest free loan.

What's wrong with SS by the way? It's done a great job for us. Two weeks ago I closed a loan for an elderly couple who bought their first house. 1/2 their income is from Social Security. Without it they'd still be renters. They also worked their entire lives and have small pensions along with his VA disability so their income is a combination of federal and personal benefits they earned over the course of two lifetimes. They're not rich by any means but they can live well and enjoy retirement and are paying less for a 30 year fixed than they were paying in rent.

Purely anecdotal but since the onset of this ACA shit my coverage has been cut way back and my out of pocket has gone way up. The coverage was greatly reduced and the cost went sky high.

You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

That does suck. Ninja's having a similar experience too.

I did get your lame neg rep though. Can't ignore those, I guess.
What makes fake ignoring more entertaining is when I post something that partially agrees with you. This'd suggest that the "lame neg rep" came from someone else, but you'll "never know."

Not just murder, gun access isn't correlated with violent crime rates either. Cross-country comparisons aren't super helpful, it's better to do cross-state and best to do post-ban. What gun access is well correlated with is suicide rate, though, and Americans are slightly more likely to commit suicide than be murdered.

This is an incredible thing if you think about it: there are 7 billion people in the world, and all of them put together are less likely to kill you than you alone are. Or: you're 7,000,000,000 times the threat to your life that a random stranger is. And you want to give yourself a gun? For the express purpose of self-defense, no less? Speaking generically, of course.

As an empirical person (and a Republican, METHAIS) I have a hard time with blame. It's one of Ker_Thwap's squishy things, I leave those alone. Correlation is my game, and reducing access to guns has a measurable and statistically significant impact on American suicide rates.

I want to stress the first thing I said: "as an empirical person". You don't have to be an empirical person, but you are allowed to be and it doesn't even require that much training. Doing the data collection is monotonous, doing the analysis requires math (though not as much as you might think), but just getting into the frame of mind is pretty easy. I can't give you any reasoning why empiricism works, that's a contradiction in terms. But I do recommend it.

I have seen no loss of coverage with my new plan, and it has been very slightly cheaper so far. My medical status is unusual, but still, just throwing that out there.

America, stop pushing. I know what I'm doing.

Are you shitting me? That's an incredible perspective. It's simultaneously pro and anti gun control. Pro gun control in that you're only going to hurt yourself (meaning that you're not going to be out gunfighting bad guys in the street) and anti in that you're only going to hurt yourself. hmmm... probably more pro-gun. It's just a bummer when suicides take people with them.

Like Arnold in T3, I am not shitting you.

If you really want a cold splash in the face, scroll down this page until you get to suicides by age. It's not emotional teenagers or snotty kids or those college kids with their reefers. It's 50 year olds.

You are 100% right about how this is a bummer, and it's another thing to punch God right in the face for if you ever meet Him. What it means to be a bummer is we don't want to think about it, talk about it... and because we don't, nothing changes, it keeps on the same way. What kind of design is that? This shit wouldn't fly in beta, let alone public release.

Meanwhile all Democrats on the PC still believe Latrin is a Republican. You can't make this shit up, folks!
