Obamacare is not affordable ... incoming mea culpa from both Back and WB.
The best part is... wait till the people that buy it, actually have to use it.

I feel left out, even though I don't think you used mea culpa properly. This phrasing implies some sort of admission of guilt.

Many who were uninsured before are feeling forced to buy pricey insurance they don't want. Others who had bare-bones individual plans are seeing the premium prices soar because the Obamacare plans are more comprehensive.
One North Carolina reader was upset to learn her current $267 a month plan was being canceled and the cheapest option on the exchange would cost her family $750 a month. They don't qualify for a subsidy.
"Obamacare is a nightmare for my family," she wrote.
Others were surprised to see how high the deductibles and out-of-pocket costs were in some plans. Deductibles for bronze plans, which carry the cheapest monthly charges, can run $5,000 to $6,000.
"This is like a catastrophic plan, said Deb Hornbacher of Colorado. "I am totally shocked and taken aback at how little it did provide at the level I could afford."
The people who are carrying comprehensive insurance right now won't have too much sticker shock. When you go from paying 0.00$ per month to paying any dollar amount it is probably going to cause some discomfort. People are going to have to budget differently and they're going to bitch and moan about it. Eventually it will stabilize.

There's certainly a degree of guilt upon everybody who tries to scare people away from the exchanges to try to make them fail. Not that they'd EVER do a thing like that.

Before ACA: "It'll be cheaper!" After ACA: "well...they're just going to have to change their lifestyle to afford it."

It's going to fail well enough on it's own. It already is. Nobody who opposes it needs to do anything but grab some marshmallows and watch it burn.

To be fair I'm quite positive 99.999% of the people would not complain at all about having to pay an extra dollar a month, probably not even an extra 10 dollars a month. 200+ dollars a month for a single person? Yes, yes people are going to complain.

Uh..its like 1/5 the price for me, so I think you are being a git disingenuous by breaking it down to the lowest point. I think the statement would be that people who carried insurance that wasn't just a catastrophic plan would find that coverage would be cheaper because people paying nothing were gaming the system is a more accurate way to put it. If you paid nothing and have to pay something, as pointed out above, then yes you will need to change your lifestyle.

Until this new system, nobody was given the information on how much of their bill was going to cover people who just didn't have anything. Now that I know it was ~$1100 a month, its not okay for me to complain that I want my $1100 back and have equal weight to the people bitching about $700 coming out of their pockets?

I guess the solution is simple: Create a medical group that hospitals and providers can join along with customers who flat out refuse care to anyone not in their network and those who don't have an insurance plan through them. That way all costs are inclusive of the member base and are required to even have a band-aid applied.

qft. Not signing up. Got my extortion-er, I mean "tax" money ready to go. Thanks, Obama. And people wonder why I evade taxes like they're...well, taxes. It's so I can afford the next wave of tyranny that I want no part of.

Most people don't realize that the plan they are getting doesn't cover anything till they also pay a huge deductible, or that there are copays for all office visits. paying 200 a month for the plan, and then having to pay say a 5k deductible till the plan pays anything, a large number of people are going to be pissed.

Its interesting really when people do things like evading taxes. Since neither of us can pick and choose which taxes we pay, which taxes do you support? I mean if we are just picking and choosing what taxes we pay for I would be curious to see what gets funded and what doesn't.
