Wand holding runestaff

I've been gone a few months and recently returned. When the mechanism at the top wears out, you have to fix it. It's quicker to fix it now than it was a few months ago.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Does this mean anything, like my staff's mechanism is wearing out? I don't know if those things eventually wear out and break.

there was a post on the officials recently saying that it was quicker to fix
