I loved gemstone III. When 4 came in, I lost some interest and finaly left. Got some free times, here and there, those new online games aren't appealing to me and I'm a nostalgic guy

So, is gemstone still interesting? I mean, is there still some fun playing that game? Some cool people like in the past? Let's say I have 5 hours per week to invest, will it be enough to enjoy the game?

I hate these questions. No one can answer this query but you. If you want to try again, jump back in. Just don't expect anyone to "make it fun for you." You make your own fun. That's how it's always been. If it's not a result of personal motivation or desire, then it'll never work. If you come back and expect entertainment to be handed to you on a silver platter, you'll just get angry and blame the game when it doesn't happen. The thing is that it's not the game's fault; it's yours.

But gemstone is a social game. You can play alone but hey, ain't fun that way. The fact that I'm asking if the game is still like it was in the past is, well I think it's obvious, I'm still interested in playing.
