I should've asked to speak to my regular vet - the tech I spoke with consulted the other doctor who works in the office. My regular vet is actually really good and I totally trust the cats with him. So it's pretty common? Do they normally recover fully fairly easily? I'm pretty sick over the whole thing, crying like a whiny bitch all night lol.

Yeah, it's pretty common. Just giving your cat a bath at home can do it if you get unlucky and they're already fighting somthing. It just requires a lot of caution, especially if their health is already iffy from other issues. It's usually started by a virus but can worsen easily.

Don't worry, it's completely treatable with more antibiotics (yes, dosing them is SO FUN) if it's the bacteria-related kind which is most common. Just need to be warm, dry and quiet. Plus medicine.

That's good to hear, thank you. Feel a bit better now. I have been fighting with her in order to administer Clavamox since I brought her home Monday night, so more antibiotics won't make a difference. She'll fight with the Clavamox or new stuff, either way haha.

I called the vet just to check up about half an hour ago and he said she's doing well - she's had the bronchodilator and she's still on oxygen. He said her color was really great ever since she arrived, and it was still great so at least we know she's getting lots of oxygen. He'll call if anything happens, but so far she's doing very well.
