Also, how do you think gender dysphoria should be handled other than allowing the person to transition?
If a person is distraught with their right arm and feels like it doesn’t belong on their body, it seems to me the go-to solution isn’t to amputate the arm.

I’m not a medical doctor; just a man with some common sense opinions. I think treatment should first include counseling the patient was born with their mind & body. We don’t get to choose that, but we do get to choose how we live our lives. Surely most can find solutions without permanently altering their bodies. And hell, if it’s an adult that wants to be trans and chooses to chop off their dick to appear more woman like after all prior treatment options have failed….go for it. This is America. You be you.

My religious take…God made us in his image, and that is a beautiful thing. When people reject who they are and try to play God themselves, the outcome isn’t going to be what they want.

Politically what I reject is compelling people by force (law) to address people by their preferred pronouns. I reject biological males competing in women’s sports. I reject children being mutilated and/or pumping them full of hormones to change themselves into what they will never be. I reject biological males invading safe spaces for women (like women’s bathrooms).

Do you really think some 5 year old knows what's even happening when is mom decides that he's a girl because he once used a pink crayon?

i.e. Do you think Megan Fox having what, 3 or 4 kids and they're all trannies, was their idea and not hers?
Minors are legally not able to get tattoos. You have to be 18 in most states.

I think your example is outside of what actually happens. I don't think a 5-year-old is going to ask to transition or a parent would accept that from a 5-year-old. And a doctor would probably not agree to it either.

If it were my 5-year-old I certainly wouldn't!

I can't speak to the situation with Megan Fox. But if they made those decisions with a physician then who am I to judge? Let them go on their own journey. Doesn't affect me.

We have compassion for those children and don’t want to see them mutilated. Those changes have permanent consequences and minors are incapable of making those decisions for themselves. It does affect us.

I didn't ask what the law is. I asked what you think. So you're either deflecting like your usual weasel self, or you just can't comprehend even the most basic reading.

    Let's try again.

Should a 7 year old be allowed to get full sleeve tattoos on both arms, in your opinion? I'm not asking what the law is, I'm asking what your opinion on it is.

    Expected limp wristed weasel response.

Back is literally incapable of that sort of thought process. He's barely capable of any thought at all.

First of all: you’re wrong. Parents absolutely make medical decisions for their child.

Second of all: even if kids did need to consent, a six year old is no where near old enough to make such decisions, not to mention it would be very easy for a parent to persuade a child to agree to such treatments.

Third of all: I just wanted to say you’re wrong again, because you are.

can you cite an example of a 6 year old getting gender affirming surgery?

I agree that amputation should only be reserved for extreme problems but if someone really wants to they ultimately can chop off their own limb and no one can stop them. Wouldn't it be better if they had it done by someone with the proper training in the proper setting with the proper tools?

Forgive me if I take what an actual medical doctor says over your "common sense". No offense meant. Your "common sense" may be different than someone else's. This subject has been studied for a long time. There are all kinds of studies and experts in many different fields around this subject. I trust them. And I agree with you... Let people be who they want to be.

Religion may inform your view and that's fine for you. It does not for everyone. We have to respect all views regardless of religion since religion is also a personal choice.

I honestly don't know much about the law surrounding pronouns. A quick lookup shows that it is based on civil rights and sexual discrimination. Personally to me it's about respecting someone's identity.

Far as sports are concerned I do think there could be a better way to handle that. I don't know what it would be. Maybe co-op games? I don't know.

So if you are 12, apparently you can get surgery in Germany. Twelve. When you should be deciding which sport you want to play or which Dragon Ball character is toughest, instead, you are deciding to get sterilized and surgically mutilated.
