Thread: Presidential Debates 2024

Their approach was to antagonize Trump into being antagonized Trump and then literally take Trump policy. She actually just stated a pro-US oil policy, one which anyone who hears it should realize its an outright lie to purvey votes.

Trump is losing so badly that he is now asking Harris to end the debate early.

Fake news, it's been a shit show, and that much is clear. I'm sure both sides are making a fortune and would never want to end it early.

If she is so great about disliking Hamas and Iranian threats, why did they hand over cash to them?

So far, this debate shows the value of preparation. Harris clearly prepared, including having a list of points designed to enrage Trump. She has delivered those points effectively. Trump is just riffing like at his rallies. It is not effective in this context, and his lack of preparation is obvious.

Overall I don't think this went well. Trump was far too emotional, far too influenced by the baiting of the questioning. Harris was not much better, but she played the typical opposition card well.

Personally, I'm highly disappointed that the real economics facing everyday peoples weren't in focus.

If the Trump tax cuts are allowed to expire, I face a 7% higher tax rate than I pay now.

If the state and local tax deduction cap (SALT) is allowed to expire, my tax burden increases exponentially versus my per capita usage vs big money coastal states.

I didn't hear what I wanted to hear.

Remember how Trump kept saying for his 4-year term that he would announce his health care plan in two weeks? He just said he would announce it in the "very near future." He said he has "concepts" for a plan but refused to describe them. Isn't it finally time?

I agree, it would be better if he would simply go back to 3 points, the economy under you sucks because of you, the border is wide open and people are dying because of you and I had no wars and you have multiple.
