If this is about a rape that happened 50 freaking years ago then why did Feinstein refer this to federal authorities? Wouldn't this be a state issue? Also wouldn't the statute of limitations passed a long, long time ago?

It's almost as if this was all just a political stunt by Feinstein.

Because the FBI are the ones that keep profiles on people in regards to background checks.

He was at an all boys school, but nothing says the women, or the accuser, was from his high school.

For sure. He certainly knew girls from outside of school.

Supposedly he and another guy tried to force themselves on the accuser at a party. It is a he said/she said thing well beyond on the statute of limitations and basically not provable either way.

That there are no reported cases of him ever trying this with other women is kinda telling to me.

It isn't rape. She is claiming he and another guy tried to "force themselves on her". Sexual offense, fourth degree has a statute of limitation of 1 year. Unless he was a teacher or someone else in authority.

Interesting side note. Gorsuch graduated from the same high school two years before Kavanaugh and Powell (Fed Chair) graduated from it in '71.

While his friend watched, she said, Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed on her back and groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it. Ford said she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. The therapist’s notes, portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post, do not mention Kavanaugh’s name but say she reported that she was attacked by students “from an elitist boys’ school” who went on to become “highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.” The notes say four boys were involved, a discrepancy Ford says was an error on the therapist’s part. Ford said there were four boys at the party but only two in the room.
