OMG! We should hold Simucons in Texas. I can carry my 8x swcw bloody meat cleaver with no fear of police intervention.

(CNN)Starting this fall, adults in Texas can openly carry knives with blades longer than 5.5 inches.
In fact, swords, spears, daggers, sabers, bowie knives and machetes are all perfectly fine to tote around. Pretty much anything you can whip out in a Dungeons and Dragons battle is fair game.

So like, many states in the US then? Other than switchblades and other automatic assist knives, length isn't illegal. Hell, people have always been open carrying swords and stuff at the RennFaires in front of cops in Texas anyways. No one ever cared.

Is that the case? It seems that most places where I've lived had a 4" blade limit. Is this usually a municipal law?

Those are all usually old laws that are often repealed. Louisiana used to have a limit on size too, but it was repealed about 20 years ago. Texas is just getting with what other states are doing, no idea why everyone is making a big deal about it. Probably because "OMG look at Texas!"

Also, a lot of those length limits you find in other states are for concealed knives, not open carried.

That guy was waiting his whole life to have a reason to pull out his sword like that, even had the 5 step plan and everything on how to take everyone out, and never got to use it

His life peaked the moment he unsheathed his sword.

I dunno, he took on a teenage girl as an apprentice and died while they were kayaking to an island for mystical ninja sword practice. Sounds like he was living the dream until the end.

Sounds like he was a dumbass for going kayaking without a life preserver on.
