I believe travel for the production crews ate up a huge chunk of the budget since they were filming on location in the States, Africa, Europe and Asia.
No, I watched the first one and by the end I was only mildly intrigued. Forgot about it and when the second season came out I was just, meh. I didn't care. It took to long to get the story rolling, if it ever really did at all.

Oh so they inflated the budget to stupid numbers to offer more "realism". When they could have done it for probably less than half that and might have still been making episodes.

maybe if you'd spend less time defending the confederacy you'd have more time for netflix

I have about 5 hrs a night at work I could watch it, the story was just underwhelming that I didn't even want to watch it.

    To each their own though.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-attacked-her/

At that point on a path too narrow path for both of them, the raccoon lunged at her. She knew instantly that she was going to be bitten and its behavior as it moved around her feet indicated that the animal was probably rabid. It latched onto her thumb with its teeth and refused to get go, its paws scratching her arms and legs and she screamed. Borch had no idea what to do until she noticed that she had dropped her phone into a puddle. At that point, Borch, a vegetarian, had to do what she had to do.

“I didn’t think I could strangle [the raccoon] with my bare hands,” she said, so, “with my thumb in its mouth, I just pushed its head down into the muck.”
