All this talk of solar panels makes me want to mention that trend is not panels but solar collecting shingles.

Go ahead and trot out your token Mosses, just makes you look more guilty.
Hasta pronto, porque la vida no termina aqui...
America, stop pushing. I know what I'm doing.
He just means the slope of the roof, which I'd imagine one could modify if they were going to be placing solar panels on their roof. But with building codes being different all over the place, I can't say with certainty you'd be able to without much hassle. You could likely put them on your roof regardless of orientation but you might be looking at a less then optimal placement.

You stumble about in a fruitless attempt at foraging.

Geezus Christ, Back. Whirlin isn't "discounting" solar energy because he hates the environment, he's discounting it because of science.
How very ironic you would be arguing with science in this very thread and given your stance on this issue.
Whirlin already mentioned an option; installing the panels on some sort of raised platforms so they point towards the correct position but he also mentioned the drawbacks of this.
There is also the possibility of installing the solar panels in your yard but let's face it, who wants solar panels in their yard? The environment isn't that important!
Also Whirlin isn't saying solar panels wouldn't work on every rooftop in America; he's just saying at the present cost it's not the best use of resources on certain homes.
Maybe in another 20 years when you can blanket your roof in solar panels for 1000 dollars it would be economically feasible for everyone.

The conservative lobby has convinced you that government shouldn't fund development of such, right? Are you a coal and oil whore? If the government funds development of alternative energy sources, you consider this to be a war on the poor, since poor people need their coal-mining jobs, right?
Meanwhile, May 2014 was the hottest May ever recorded in the history of climate records.

Don't worry, conspiracy theory-loving conservatives! Climate change is still a fraud/myth you don't have to worry about. You're doing a good job stifling those greedy "scientists."
Wait--the Pentagon is worried that climate change will have implications for national security? Don't worry! House Republicans inserted a rider into the NDAA to try and stop them from considering/acting on it.
What's that? Henry Paulson, Bush's treasury secretary and Michael Bloomberg, billionaire Republican are also concerned? Don't you worry! It's still nothing to worry about.
