That test we took a long time ago defines libertarian as radical capitalist, which is by definition mutually exclusive with conservatives of all stripes and is equidistant from what the test calls left wing (radical socialist) and right wing (conservative capitalist).

Economically conservative and socially liberal is a tough sell on the national stage, and here's a sweet graph showing the states:

Quadrant 2 would be the libertarian, and the best case you could make would be Minnesota, and it's not a great one.

Quadrant 4 is interesting too: economically liberal and socially conservative, what our test called pro-government and what other people call communist: West Virginia, Kentucky, and Montana! Commies.
This would mean that there are a lot of Dems that are not Dems, and Republicans that are not Republicans. Not to mention Liberals that are not liberals, and conservatives that are not conservative.

If you were Cwollf, Back, or Wife Beater, I would say that you had political ideas that were not in line with your party or ideology. Everyone does. I'd love for you to find me one single person that is 100% one way.

Hey man, I don't make the rules, talk to Thondalar. I'm on record saying "no one is [an ideologue], because all of us are humans."

What's consistently been hanging you up on this stuff is that you have such a strong party identification. Lots of us don't. Conservative doesn't automatically mean GOP. In fact one could argue that a true conservative would blow his stack of a lot of GOP things that have happened. Same with liberals. They don't necessarily stick to the Democratic ticket. These are concepts describing ones political inclinations not party affilitation.

No but I understand that you did a good job with your eyeshadow and that's a hanging offense for a man in many western states.

How is this shocking? When I run either the Political Compass test or the slackholla test on students they very often get different results than they expect.

Now that I think about it, you might be a liberal with libertarian leanings. I know you don't like gov't intervention in everyday life. Subsidies are an example. But you also are pro-social safety net and frustrated that it doesn't work as well as it should.

What party am I? I bet you would guess wrong as to what I am registered with, and what I vote, and what I think of myself as.

Then again, you are wrong most of the time, so what else would be new.

That's a tough question. The general tenor of your postings here are extremely right wing. As if the Tea Party is too populist and the GOP not strict enough. The post about your sisters really floored me though. It basically took most of your espoused politics and threw them right out the window when IRL comes calling. My guess is that you are registered independent, think of yourself as a conservative, vote GOP and want Democrat policy.

Registered Dem, Vote both ways, think of myself as an Independent, but frankly would prefer a Dictatorship.

And how exactly is me being pissed about government inefficiency throwing my politics out the window? If you read that post, I don't think I said anywhere in there that I think my sister SHOULD get help actually, just that if she is supposed to get help, it sucks that the Government doesn't do it, and no one is held responsible.

Pretty much in line with my "The Government fucking sucks" attitude.

You did rail against government in that post. My reaction is because I figured that you are a conservative and I consider conservatives to be the pick yourself up by the bootstraps types. Those who believe that family and church should step in and help people who need a hand up rather than the gov't giving them a hand out.

Maybe that's the wrong view of your politics and I'll try to pay attention in future postings.

It seems like you go out of your way on this forum to represent far right politics and demonize democrats. I'm surprised, given your self assessment, that there isn't more balance to your posts.
