The level of the sense of entitlement some people have amazes me. We got a VERY upset customer, who comes in because he bowls in a league (remember, I work for a nationwide chain of bowling centers), and not only was he pissed about some of the "perks" for league bowlers being cut (new management is focusing a little more on the people who come in for fun, because they tend to pay more).. he was upset about the staff trying to make the conditions right for others in there for the sport because it inconvenienced him (no noes! he had to move so the lanes could be properly conditioned!).. and there's something about the new scoring software that he's none too happy about either. And if the following demands aren't met, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, not only will he never visit one of our locations again, but he'll go public on FB and reviews about what a crappy company we are.

• Unlimited free games as long as he's a league bowler with our company
• Lane reservations on a freshly oiled pattern of his choice (serious bowlers can be very picky about how the lane is prepared)
• Lower the price for games played after league bowling to what it used to be before the new management made changes (about $1/game)
• Getting back his 2 free games from the night when he was so horribly insulted, or cash equivalent
• Reinstate the free 2-hour practice session each Friday (one of our busiest days for people coming in for fun)
• Put oatmeal raisin cookies back on the menu (I'm actually with this, they were DA BOMB)
• 90% discount on all food purchases (Hahahahaha.. Employees NEVER even got it so good)

As a professional bowler.. (I have the card, just never would enter a tourney, I am not THAT good)..

the only one of those I would agree with is #2. Then again, if he is a serious bowler and near pro level, he likely has friends there that would do it for him anyway.

I used to bowl over 100 games a week, I never got them for free.. well, ok, usually didn't. I never bowled free games on a friday night or saturday. That's just crazy.

We actually do have league rewards, that are back to including very limited free games. I think it's a nice perk, and in some areas where bowling leagues are really popular, there are people who join multiple leagues and then come in with their families and friends and pay to bowl for fun. Eventually the new management will get it into their heads that there is profit to be made in affording league bowlers a few perks and keeping CUSTOMER LOYALTY.
