Oh, I know the tribes don't share with other tribes not in their nation, but a lot of them have Reservations. Especially the ones in Oklahoma and such (which is closer to where I live)

You might feel this way because Oklahoma (and environs) is famously packed with (the) blacks. If the first nations stopped American expansion and maintained sovereignty in the West there's no way the football team from our nations capital would be called the Redskins. For hundreds of years settlers and pioneers lived under the threat of sudden death from the indigs they were replacing.

At some point will we have a new sports franchise called "The Tennessee Terrorists" or the "Oklahoma Bombers". Maybe an expansion team could be the "Pearl Harbor Zero's".

Sounds ridiculous but it only takes a little bit of time to turn your fear into a mascot. Almost as if that's the ultimate expression of conquering your fear as a people. A reverse of this is the "Freedom Fry" which is very recent example that words do have meaning within a culture.

I think this is why the First Nations have a point. They are standing up and saying that we can not forget what went into building this country. There were people here first and their children are still here. I hope they are successful and able to keep the history alive. It's unfortunate that they even have to fight for it but that's the way it goes.

Actually, new evidence suggests human existence in the Americas before the land bridge through the bearing straits. Strong evidence suggest they were from Europe. So... Were Europeans just taking their shit back then?

I'm not sure how strong that evidence is. There are some compelling arguments though. Not the least of which is that Shawnee had a mythology built around a blond haired blue eyed demi-god and this myth predates Columbus.

There are a lot of competing theories right now including one which says that the first human settlement of the Americas was by Pac. Islanders landing in S. America by boat. It'll be interesting to see how these ideas end up shaking out.

How about we all just wrap ourselves in bubblewrap and fluffy pillows, never look each other in the eye, only eat ice cream, never cut each other off in traffic, never make fun of the fat kid, never make fun of the dumb jock, all have one big orgy so we are all the same color, all speak one language, all be the same height, all be the same weight, all do the same things, all be the best at everything, always get a trophy for everything we do (to include breathing), all wear the same clothes, never expand, don't use oil, don't use sunlight either because that might kill all of the daisies if we use the suns energy ourselves, change any name to Peace-Neutral-Happy-or something similiar to not offend anyone when we can't decide if it's pronounced Jesus or Jezues, never celebrate your history or heritage because we should all have the same one so we don't offend the people that your fathers people beat up some 800 years ago, disconnect the internet because it's not environmentally friendly, only ride horses, but don't ride them because it might hurt their back and is animal cruelty.................
