loresong indicates special ability, but not what, which usually indicates a scripted flare of some sort, so I thought it might have the snake flares and the zests. Turns out I was correct and it does. The snake flare script takes up the script and flare spot, preventing wizard enchanting.

As you ignorantly attempt to kiss your kelyn flamberge, the mist-shrouded necrotic serpent lashes out at you aggressively! Whatever were you thinking?

You prod at your kelyn flamberge with the tip of your finger, and the mist-shrouded necrotic serpent coiled around it lunges out at you, flickering its silvery black tongue as a warning signal.
>pull my flamberge
You grab the mist-shrouded necrotic serpent wrapped around your flamberge and give it a solid yank! It hisses dangerously at you.
I don't have a THW character, so I took it out and played with hill trolls a bit. I got it to flare a number of times and saw a few different looks to the flare. I'm not sure if they had any different effects or not. Here are examples of each:

The mist-shrouded necrotic serpent on your flamberge hisses steadily as it slithers up and down it. With a quick lunge it lashes out at the troll leaving a painfully stinging bite wound. As quickly as it struck, it recoils back onto the flamberge protectively.
