Now remember that Mormons broke for Romney and Bush by a larger margin- 80% of the vote. 61% job approval may be high for Trump (let's not forget here- he's the single most unpopular US President in modern US history), but it's actually low for Mormons.
As for the gallup data- it was collected over the course of 2017. It turns out that since 2017, Utah is the state that has had the single biggest dip in approval for Trump. It had already dropped 17 points by the time last September rolled around. As of April, Trump's net approval had dropped from +27 to -6. So over the course of about 15 months, there has been a 33 point swing in net approval in Utah. Now that's not just Mormons, but they are an extremely significant part of the registered voter population in utah (they were 78% of the voters in 2008)
Remember- my original claims were:
I didn't say that they Universally despised him- I said that Mormon voters are turned off by him. And a lot of the drop in their support appears to be from the last 5 or 6 months- which also happens to coincide with revelations about a lot of pretty salacious facts about his personal life. It's an easy thing for Romney to hedge on endosring Trump. Trump is actually under water in Utah right now. (But not so much that he's free to be aggressive about it)
As a voting group, Mormons are traditional moral values voters. So they see a President who lies constantly, cheats on his wife with porn stars, and who treats people poorly and are turned off by it.
At the same time, White Evangelical supports are now at an all-time high in their support for Trump- it's at 75%.. I believe that exceeds every other demographic (and certainly every other religious group). Mormons certainly are not his highest supporting religious group right now.

Please... keep putting all your faith and hopes in the polling data you deem most accurate. Your subsequent meltdown 2.0 will be just as entertaining.
538 was so spot on.. he fucking nailed it for Trump.. 3am election night.....
You can't make the claim that "Mormons are turned off by Trump" when as of a few months ago (according to most recent, reliable polling data) 61% of them approved of his performance, well above the national average.
You also can't extrapolate reliable Mormon-specific data from a general poll.
Here's a question for you: why would Evangelical approval rating rise to 75% and Mormons' tank when they share many of the same values and have always polled very similarly in the past?
You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

That could be true. I honestly believe that at least in high positions that they view private possession of weapons as a hurdle to complete subjugation/control. I believe that the higher ups seem to think that most people simply aren't smart/wise/good/responsible/whatever enough to own weapons.
