CNN sues Trump, demanding return of Acosta to White House

NEW YORK (AP) - CNN is suing the Trump administration, demanding that correspondent Jim Acosta's press credentials to cover the White House be returned.

The administration revoked them last week following President Trump's contentious news conference, where Acosta refused to give up a microphone when the president said he didn't want to hear anything more from him. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Washington, D.C., District Court.

CNN claims the revocation of Acosta's press pass violates the constitutional rights to freedom on the press and due process. CNN is asking for an immediate restraining order to return Acosta to the White House. There was no immediate comment from the administration.



I wasn't aware that Jim Acosta was CNN's only reporter, but nonetheless, I want my WH credentials too as I now identify as a news reporter.

France is rioting in large part because of rising fuel costs, and a large part of the rising cost of fuel is the government imposing more and more taxes on fuel in an effort to get more people to buy electric cars or more fuel efficient cars.

So let's think about this for a minute. A lot of people in France supported Macron because he apparently wanted to save the planet because he supported the Paris accord and that mean old Trump didn't. Then France was like "Well time to keep our promise! Let's encourage people to buy more fuel efficient vehicles the only way the government can, by imposing taxes!" Then these same people who wanted to vote for a man who would save the world are now pissed at him because they didn't realize that in order to "save the planet" they would need to cough up a lot of money.

Meanwhile the US is producing less carbon emissions without having to tax the shit out of the poor and middle class.

I kind of get not reversing the policy, you don't want to reward bad behavior. But sometimes you might not have much of a choice.

Also maybe it would have been a good idea to not keep taxing the shit out of gas to begin with.
