I've never finished III, characters didn't stick with me for whatever reason.

Sabin? Gau?? Terra??? I have never been more disappointed in a PC post. FF6 was the best realized story of any video game of all time, and it's not close.

Well my angsty teen self didn't identify with any of those characters, so I didn't really get into it enough to be gripped. Cecil and Cloud make a lot more sense to me. The game itself isn't bad, it just didn't work for me.

How did you identify with Cecil? Honest question. His story arc is mostly one of reluctant acceptance of the Dark Sword/Knight and then redemption/atonement for his sins.

At any rate, I'm actually pretty hyped about Kingdom Hearts 3 even though I won't play it.

I've always been a fan of the series' gameplay, and writing, keeping characters true to their original personas in their native games... but honestly, the plot got pretty out there with all the spinoffs...
