Thread: updater - cannot connect

    Default updater - cannot connect

So, my PC had a meltdown and I decided to fire up a free account to kill some time. I've updated to 4.6 and get these errors on login:

[updater: error connecting to server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. - connect(2)]

[updater: error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. - connect(2)]
    --- Lich: updater has exited.

    ¿Que?

The updater script is no more.

What the updater script used to do is now done with

    ;repository download-updates

If you imported settings from Lich 4.4, and repository wasn't set to start at login in those settings, then do this to make it download updates at login:

    ;autostart add repository download-updates

This doesn't download all possible updates, just the stuff you set as updatable. The defaults will probably be set, but to check and change them, look at ;repository help
Get Lich - Vote for Gemstone (topmudsites.com)

    Default

I was checking out the new repo commands earlier... looks good. It never occurred to me while doing so that updater was likely obsolete. It's all set now, thanks!
