And they have no plans to support modding with this game. Their reasoning being that it isn't just a CA game... I imagine Games Workshop doesn't want them to.

They have said this game will be a "trilogy" with the first races being available being: The Empire, Vampire Counts, Dwarves, and Greenskins.

    Bunch of info here: http://forums.totalwar.com/showthrea...mation-from-CA

Sucks that there is no modding support, but still, everything they've said so far sounds pretty badass.

Rumors on the Total War forums is that it'll release fall/winter of this year. They have been working on it for years already... I remember seeing a shot of one of the computer's showing a Warhammer model during Rome 2 development.

And now, back to my Geat viking campaign. About to be pounding on the Sassanids from the East.

A few screenshots released the other day:

We had a chance to take a look at some of the battles that are coming with Creative Assemblyís Total War: Warhammer, and things look promising. While weíre used to seeing swarms of humans tearing into each other with swords, axes, and catapults, this diversion to the realm of fantasy features fantastic creatures and creations that would seem completely out of place in the more historically-rooted franchise. Trolls, flying monsters, steam tanks, spellcasters, demigryphs, and even Karl Franz make an appearance in a demo of the Battle of Blackfire Pass, and things looked incredible. Iíve always wondered what fantasy and the Total War franchise would look like if they came together, and even the single battle we witnessed makes a strong case that these elements should keep coming together (although Iím still completely okay with the more historical titles as well).

Hope they have sync kills like Dawn of War did with monstrous units.

Awesome new video, mostly past titles, but the end gives a couple second tease of Warhammer.

They already have kills like that in the current games. They usually set them to occur lower for FPS purposes, though if you go to cinematic mode it is supposed to up them. From what I've read they are going back to the older system where you will have 2 and 3 on one animations, as well as the current 1v1 dueling system. Since Shogun 2 they went to only 1v1 animations, which were fine for Shogun 2, but the Rome 2 and Attila titles, not so much. If it is true they are, though, it should have that sort of stuff vs large units.

God damn it. This better have a 'Create your Lord' feature.
    I triggered a Flimbo.
[LNet]-GSIV:Flimbo: "Yeah, turns out that whole "monks have bad TD" argument didn't hold up, so you can stop harping on that anytime. I wrote a program to prove it. You wanna see it?"
