I think the guy is crazy, but I also think it goes to show how much animals can "feel". I've always believed animals have feelings other than just instinct, especially if they are in a situation where resources (food/water) are in abundance.

Take away his food for a few days though, and I bet he loses some of that love...

See they are looking at it all wrong. Use the worst photo you can find of yourself and then, if someone wants to meet you, slap on some makeup and brush your hair and they will think they hit the jackpot.
