In this ageist society, I've found myself totally amazed at all the focus media has given to the fact that Disney has cast a black woman for the role of Ariel instead of the fact that they cast a 52-year-old woman for the role.
Yes, all week I thought it was Halle BERRY that was cast, not Halle BAILEY.
My family has been spending the morning mocking me.
We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. Dude! I had to unfriend someone on Facebook because he was threatening a friend of mine over the Little Mermaid being a black actor and my friend was okay with it.
I think the casting choice is dumb but no need to threaten someone over it. People suck.
