Thread: tpick issue

    Default tpick issue

    Hello,
I have been trying to use the tpick script for my just barely guilded rogue. I do not yet have the ability to measure locks, so using ;tpick setup, tried to set the script to not use calipers. Unfortunatly, no matter what I do my rogue always tries to take out his calipers (which he does not have). This causes the script to hang and exit. Any help? This happens with all uses of tpick... ground, picking for others, picking my own etc.

    Sal

Type ;tpick to pick your own boxes.
Type ;tpick <anything (except v, ground, setup)> to pick other people's boxes.
Type ;tpick <v> to skip measuring locks and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403 to pick all boxes.
Type ;tpick <v anything> to pick other people's boxes and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403.
Type ;tpick <ground> to pick all boxes on the ground.
Type ;tpick <ground loot> to pick all boxes on the ground and take the loot out of each box.
Type ;tpick <ground v> or ;tpick <ground loot> v> to skip measuring and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403.

So the v command would skip measuring and would use a vaalin lockpick. This actually uses whichever lockpick you set the vaalin lockpick variable in setup, so if you wanted to use a golvern lockpick all the time instead just put whatever your golvern lockpick is in the vaalin spot.

This is with ;tpick ground v and no wedges on me.

You glance down to see a scratched silver strongbox in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.

[tpick: Couldn't find any wedges, going to try popping this box.]
    [tpick]>prep 407
You gesture and invoke the powers of the elements for the Unlock spell...
    Your spell is ready.
    >
    [tpick]>cast my strongbox
You gesture at a scratched silver strongbox.
You hear a soft click from the strongbox and it suddenly flies open.
The scintillating light fades from your hands.
    Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

Bumping this because even when I do ;tpick <v loot> with the calibrate unchecked, it still tries to measure the lock after I've already opened it. Latest version.

Peering into the locksmith's toolkit, you see a lump of squishy white putty with about 39 pinches left, 46 little balls of cotton, a set of narrow metal grips, a thin metal file, a thick steel needle, a sapphire brushed rolaren lockpick, an opalescent ora lockpick, a steel spring, a steel spring, a steel spring, a steel spring, a quartz-inlaid blued steel lockpick, a copper lockpick, a silver lockpick, a ruby-edged dark mithril lockpick, a weathered scrap of parchment, a steel spring, a steel spring, a cerulean-hued wavy glaes lockpick, a kelyn-tipped myklian scale lockpick and a set of professional calipers.

    [tpick]>disarm #11320219
You carefully begin to examine a scratched mithril coffer for traps...

There appears to be a plate over the lock, sealing it and preventing any access to the tumblers.

It looks like a rudimentary trap (-24).

You still have a good enough picture of the trap in your mind, that you could try to disarm it.

    [tpick: Disarming trap.]
    [tpick]>disarm #11320219
Having discovered a trap on the coffer you begin to carefully attempt to disarm it...

You don't seem to have any way to get through that metal plate covering the lock. Gonna chew through it?

    [tpick: Attempting to pick lock.]
    [tpick]>pick #11338744
You settle into the difficult task of picking the lock.
You make a poor attempt (d100=36).
You struggle with the coffer. As you do, you get a sense that the coffer has an extremely easy lock (-115 thief-lingo difficulty ranking). Then...CLICK! It opens!

    Please specify an appropriate skill.

    Usage:
LMASTER PTRICK {trick} {object} - Pick a lock on an object with a fancy trick
LMASTER SENSE - Determine the current conditions for lockpicking

Where {trick} is one of the following:
    SPIN

What value do you have for the "Calibrate count" setting in the "More Other" tab?

If you want to never calibrate this should be set to 999.
