Bare minimum? Bare minmum VA disability pay is 130 dollars a month. A vet could be 70% disabled and still receive only 15kish a year from the VA.

The amounts are determined by the rules of the process, obviously. The question is: is it "triple-dipping"? Not "That sounds like a lot of money in the few examples I chose to relate. Should they receive that much when they probably have enough (as determined by the people who distribute the funds!)?

Why do there need to be limits? It's a benefit of serving in the military. It's beyond shitty to ask a vet to choose between his civilian benefits and his VA benefits.

Military service is voluntary and should not elevate somebody to the status of citizen plus.
You're absolutly right, it's voluntary. If you want to "double dip" then voluntarily join the military, get injured due to a service connected disability then get disabled enough to receive social security disability.
If you want to "triple dip" then do all of the above in addition to serving 20 years in the military.
The fact that you didn't do this doesn't automatically give you the right to say someone else is "receiving too much" money.
