So we should go ahead and legalize everything because that would get rid of all crime? I'm not here to debate the merits of making things legal or not. My original point was only "Good, the government is enforcing the law now." If pot was legal, fine. It is legal. You people seem to be bitching that the Government doesn't enforce the law when it comes to illegals, but when it comes to pot... OH NO! THAT IS AN OKAY ILLEGAL THING THOUGH!

Ok.
All that...other stuff you said aside, I do think they should change the law, and I think they will. This delay, while unfortunate, is probably best case scenario given the Trump administration.
Medical marijuana use seems to not be a target of the administration. Assuming that holds true, more states will continue to pass laws to that effect. I don't see public opinion swinging back in the opposite direction, eventually the will of the people will win out.

If they do enforce it, I would imagine that the recreational states could just do what California did and allow doctors to hand out cards for just about anything. Oh you get headaches, here's your medical marijuana card.
They don't want to lose that revenue now that they've seen how much it is.
