I just did a Byzantine playthough on CK2 and managed to finally reform the Roman Empire. It got really hairy when I only had 2-3 provinces left because my emperor committed suicide (stress death) with the line of succession at the time being his sickly 2 year old son > emperor's high-intrigue older sister > some random female cousin who was already in a non-matrilineal marriage. Funny thing about that sister: she had previously tried to kill the emperor when he was just a baby, so I (as the previous emperor) imprisoned her and forgot about her for almost 30 years. I guess hard time changes a woman because she came out as a 0% fertility homosexual with ambition and other bad news traits. Those first few years as the sickly kid were real nail biters.
Unfortunately the save converter is messing up so I guess I'll have to use someone else's CK2 save in EU4.

I just played an EU4 campaign as the Mupata in Africa... And conquered/colonized all of Africa, forced Mecca to convert to my nation's animist religion, and began my invasion of Castille.

Horse Lords released for CK2, allowing you to play as a proper steppe tribe. As is usual when these things first come out, I have no idea what I'm doing. I hope some day they expand the map into east Asia.

I think if they want to keep on their crazy DLC scheme, East Asia and playing through courtier -> baron -> count would be good expansion points.
Playing a Wales challenge right now in which I'm supposed to go after the Mongols and Aztecs. Curious what changes Horse Lords will have brought.

Ah. Just found out that CA is making Halo Wars 2, releasing Feb 2017. Not gonna be a Grand Strat though, but Hal Wars was one of the best console based RTS ever.

Holy Fury for CK2 is insanely good. I got my Norse Germanic pagan's personal combat modifier up to something absurd like 130 through the berserker trait, my warrior lodge, and a bunch of human sacrifice and duel experience. Later he dueled some shieldmaiden and they wound up falling in love.
I also really like how leading troops is much more hands on and dangerous.
