those by the way are brawling vambraces that I managed to orb prior to GMs disabling orb creation out of that item, so the restriction on them is the same 50 ranks of brawling you need for brawling vambraces (50 right?)

Why did they disable making orbs from them?

I imagine volume, though, by the time they had disabled it, the store selling the vambraces had been discontinued (I think), so it wasn't as if you could make infinite fusion orbs, but still, they probably did not want such a huge volume of brawling fusion orbs existing. Luckily for all the brawlers in the world I was a fast mover and made about 15 said orbs, of which I have only those 4 left.
