    Normal Version.

You gesture at a crazed zombie.
You hurl a small surge of electricity at a crazed zombie!
    AS: +219 vs DS: +138 with AvD: +24 + d100 roll: +12 = +117
... and hit for 2 points of damage!
Tiny sparks dance around belly. Cool!

Your runestaff resonates with a high-pitched sound and causes your skin and muscles to tighten!

    Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

    Phenom (or above) Version.

    AS: +219 vs DS: +138 with AvD: +24 + d100 roll: +78 = +183
... and hit for 12 points of damage!
Light shock to right arm. That stings!

Your runestaff resonates with an extremely high-pitched sound and causes your skin and muscles to harden!

    Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

I also added a loresong, analyze, and the verb RUB for these. The reasoning for the RUB verb is to help players easily identify the scripted properties when making a transaction with them (much like a number of other scripted flares out there). Weapons that have this script can be assessed as well (not for extra information, they just won't give a null return anymore). StormFront users can click on the item for a sub menu for the RUB command.

This is all great, but the updates aren't released into the game as of yet. I may have unearthed an issue with these, so I'm just double checking with the dev team if it needs to be fixed or not. So once we cross our tees and dot our eyes (har har), we'll get the update into the game!

Does the messaging remind anyone else of hearing a bad sound and clenching thine butt cheeks?

Now, does this work with 515? If so, then I could see it being worthwhile. Otherwise, will 30 seconds of damage padding ever make the difference between life and death for a pure? It's neat, but I don't think it would be the deciding factor for a pure surviving outside of someone who already hunts with a great deal of damage padding like a wizard in GoS.

Yeah. Free HDP for what that's worth. Not terrible, but I'm not sure I see the utility beyond wizards. It seems the consensus that straight damage flares are the best for runestaves. I wouldn't mind acuity flares in the 7-10x range.

I could see Acuity flares being fun with ensorcell procs... If they align it could be a nice +40 AS or something significant. Not bad if you're not paying attention and try to poke a mob that's still in defensive.

Fun, but not necessarily better than straight damage flares. Straight Damage flares will always win with a 901 build anyway.

Sounds like a quick way to draw out the nerf bat.

I don't see why. Hasted wizards didn't nerf melee bubble flares.

rapidfire 901 is so much better with a damage type flare anyway. Damage padding on pures is useless.

So you might be able to get your runestaff fix at a festival near you.

With that said... There was a bug that I found in the phenom version, the ones that provided the phenom levels of damage padding instead of the heavy amount. They weren't providing all that glorious damage padding for roughly 60 seconds! But that should be resolved! Those who own the phenom sets should see a noticeable difference!

    Happy hunting!
