I've got a 2x katana and a 2x fire flaring naginata I plan on taking. Teegan has a nice enhancive katana in her playershop for 20m I thought about. The cool thing is if it is less than 5x it gets a free enchant too.

I would hope at the minimum they could give the weapon the scripts, if not the enchant.

It is old style, I don't think getting this converted to new style is worth some fluff scripts.

it isn't just scripts. It is scripts, flares, and enhancives.

This is what I was replying to Viril, surprisingly, not everything is about you.

Is there any requirement of a GM to switch a Claid from old to new before they can work on it?

Old-style claids were around after ice-age and were made until they created a claidhmore base, along with releasing bastard swords. Way back when, bastard swords were extremely rare, their base was different also: greatsword/broadsword. There wasn't a grip verb so you had to 'put' your sword to change grips. When they created the bastard sword base as it exists today they introduced the grip verb which auto-converted your weapon to the new base. Also, there were chambers you could go into to convert weapons to the new base if you wanted. There are still old-style claids you can get off the shelf in the lands, they are in the weapon shop on Teras. However, they are not enchanted and are -10 to as.

As to whether they would add enchants to it, I don't know. I know you can't use premium points. As for adding the black ora scripts and flares, you can't have a flared and crit weighted weapon so you can't do it functionally.
