Thread: Mid-high level hunting areas

    Default Mid-high level hunting areas

Okay, I'm bored out of mind of hunting Plane 1. Any level 70+ warriors/rogues out there that are hunting in the Aqueduct? I want to know if it's possible to be effective there before actually going because I hate the EN trip like no other. My rogue's AS is somewhere around 415 and can e-wave.

From what I understand of old Ta'F......to get into the Aquaduct....you have to run by everything else.....which includes the war griffins, etc, etc, etc.

    Isn't the Maaghara Tower 70ish?

Yeah, you can ride Maghaara up to like 80 but it gets slow around the upper 70's.

Not a square, Edaarin but your AS seems about right for things there from the bolt DS I've seen. However, I don't really see many squares hunting the ducts. Most everyone seems to be a pure.

Aquaduct is easy, specially since yer spells can probably help you from gettin warded by taints. They'd get me all the time. Gremlocks garrote might get you alot too since yer so much younger than them.

Shadow mastery is good there because gremlocks are so freakin perceptive. Before shadow mastery, gremlocks would point me out while I was in 3 second sneak rt and taints would get me. I hated it.

Also, while I was hunting there I didn't see any other squares besides me. You may wanna consider the Tower before you goto the aquaduct, too.

Here are some aquaduct tidbits. I'd be happy to show you around there, and if you felt brave enough, you could kill the big shit with me 'D

    Anyway, to the clips.

You swing a twisted orase staff at a festering taint!
    AS: +84 vs DS: +416 with AvD: +12 + d100 roll: +63 = -257
    A clean miss.
    Roundtime: 11 sec.

A festering taint points a putrid hand at you!
    CS: +367 - TD: +413 + CvA: +2 + d100: +74 == +30
    Warded off!

    Bolt DS of 322.

You swing a twisted orase staff at a gremlock!
    AS: +84 vs DS: +495 with AvD: +12 + d100 roll: +6 = -393
    A clean miss.
    Roundtime: 11 sec.

A gremlock claws at a festering taint!
    AS: +407 vs DS: +332 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +27 = +137
... and hits for 10 points of damage!
Slashing strike near forehead nicks an eyebrow!
    That must sting!

You swing a twisted orase staff at a gremlock!
    AS: +84 vs DS: +356 with AvD: +12 + d100 roll: +41 = -219
    A clean miss.
    Roundtime: 11 sec.

A gnarled being charges at you with its tusk!
    AS: +386 vs DS: +423 with AvD: +27 + d100 roll: +8 = -2
    A clean miss.

You swing a twisted orase staff at a gnarled being!
    AS: +112 vs DS: +211 with AvD: +4 + d100 roll: +62 = -33
    A clean miss.
    Roundtime: 13 sec.

    Hope those help.

The aqueduct is doable. I headed out there around level 76 and played around. You'll die, I'm sure. Taints suck with their TD spells, but they are easily killable. Gremlocks are perceptive buggers, so I ended up Voln Fuing them. The other things, Beings, are pie. I'll probably maybe possibly head out there soon now that I'm nearing 80s.

With ewave it's a cake walk. But like everyone else has said, don't stand around in front of a taint. 30 second mind jolts suck. Small weapons work well there too.

And BTW, since when is 70s "mid-high"?

I just turned 54 yesterday, and consider myself a very high hunter.

Yeah, I almost didn't read this thread because I was thinking "mid high" as being level 60 or so.

It's hard to consider level 80 as mid-high when we are talking about Rift, Tower, and OTF as the only hunting areas available.

What level is Maaghera (sp) Tower stuff? Guess Aquaduct is a little out of the question, I still get the crap warded out of me by csetairi's and I'm just about their level now.
