Anyone watching the HBO special tonight? 4 former Auburn players will be smearing Auburn with pay-for-play booster stories.
Few worthy things to preemptively note:
-2 of the players have obvious axes to grind (1 currently has a lawsuit
pending against Auburn for the former training coach pushing him too hard)
- 1 completely wasted his Pro career by blowing 90% of his money
-He also has a charity that HBO is sponsoring
-Former players Junior Rosegreen, Lee Ziemba, Karibi Dede, Ronnie Brown
Carnell Williams, Quentin Groves, Ryan Pugh, among others have
publically claimed these guys are full of poop, going so far as to question
why mediocre players were getting paid when good ones weren't
This is but a segment of the HBO special. May be interesting to watch.
I'm not above admitting that boosters everywhere (including Auburn) probably have their hands out to the players. But the segment comes off as sounding like someone just watched The Program.
EDIT: Late edit so as to not bump thread...
An article outlining 3 or 4 sources also refuting said shadiness:
