Started the process of getting my son back into the really good school that he was going to before we relocated for his mother's career.

That'd be a 'no' across the board there. Acts of kindness and compassion are fine. I just question if this is the sort of way to go about it. Obviously I don't know the kids that they've been doing this with, so maybe mentally it's something they can handle, but I think if something like this were to backfire it could cause a lot of issues with the child.

I see this more along the lines of giving the kid a bite of pizza and then snatching it out of his mouth after getting a taste and then telling the kid, "Ok, pal, time for reality again. No more pizza for you. Ever." Kind of a shitty deal.

Something else to consider is the possibility that this catches on a bit more. I've already seen at least two (I believe) instances of it. What becomes of this kind gesture when it becomes some sort of tradition that the other kids start dubbing the Tard Bowl or somethin? Or, even without a negative label, does a gesture like this not lose a lot of the sincerity when it becomes rote?
You get that he has brain cancer, right?

And the other has downs. He shouldn't be taunted with things he can't do. He should only have experiences that prepare him for a lifetime of basic and light custodial work.

Nope, I thought I was pretty clear in stating I didn't know what condition the kid was in. However, this concept of having disabled kids score touchdowns is not isolated:

Those are the results from the first two pages of google search 'high school football disabled touchdown'. Obviously I didn't read any of the links in this thread, but if I missed that this particular case is in regard to brain cancer, so be it. It doesn't change anything.

Speaking as a parent of a disabled child, I think you are fucking retarded. Trust me, these kids have enough challenges in their lives. This won't convince them that they are football gods, and many of them are more perceptive than you seem to think. Keep in mind, my philosophy in general is that you can't let a person win at any game, or else they won't get better- you learn more from suffering a crushing defeat than a pity win. These kids aren't likely to get a whole lot better at sports though, so it's ok to let them have one, as long as it isn't their life goal to be in the NFL.
