I got that job, by the way
Reminiscing with a friend about all the 'pretend' games we used to play as kids.. namely "Spies" for most of the year and then "Mermaids" in the summer.
One of my Electives in Culinary School is Beer and Spirits. We have to project to work on a particular style of Beer. I chose Bock Beers.
There is NOTHING like tasting the style of beers while working on a power point presentation.
Ayinger's Weizen-Bock was absolutely excellent. Normally I don't like wheat beer but this Bock does not have the bitter after taste of hops. It smells like a combination of cloves, bananas, and yeast bread. Lots of carbonation. Full mouth. the 7% alcohol content is masked behind the sweetness of the malt.
Sam Adam's Double bock wasn't bad. It smells like warm bread with the taste of raisins and caramel. It would go well with game. Right now I am starving for some venison or a nice pork loin stuffed with sauteed apples and potatoes. There isn't much of a head on this beer and though sweet in flavor there is a slight oily feel in the mouth after drinking it. I will have to slow down a bit the alcohol content is 9.5% but the sweetness of the malt does hide it.
Kuyuk your stuffed Pork Loin that you posted in the Recipe of Doom Folder would well with Doppel Bock or Double Bock
Peace

Sarah Shakespalin made me smile today. (A Twitter trend born after Palin tweeted something with the word 'refudiate', then deleted the tweet and explained that Shakespeare liked to make up words, so why can't she?)

Be not afraid of mavericks: some are born mavericks, some achieve maverickry, and some have maverickness thrust upon 'em.
But soft, what light from yonder window breaks? It is the West, and I can see Russia from my front porch.
Shall I compare ya to a summer's day?
If we drillers have offended, think but this & all is mended, that you have but slumbered here while BP oiled your gulf so dear

Getting phone calls from Nachos and Nikki who made me laugh. And my best friend getting me Dexter swag from Comic Con and Chipotle!
Feeling a bit better too.
