As suggested in the appraisal folder, it'd be good enchanting fodder when the padding eventually wears off.

the impact resistance may be good for griffin drops.

You'll want to get an old empath with troll's blood, and have someone else repeatedly punch them in the chest bare fisted. set it up on a script, get that padding drained.
