It has an attack that removes 102, you've probably been getting hit with that first without noticing.

I still had 102 up afterwards, hence the confusion. I recall before I'd get a message saying the spines burst the air wall, now they just seem to go straight through it. Has happened twice so far.

What I'm reading on the wiki is that shields, not airwall, stops it. They can just lower 102.

The air calms down around you.

This is what used to happen anyways, the spell would block the spines but be consumed by them in the process. Something seems to have changed

Found one of those totem heads that's supposed to make it harder to drown. Because I guess people drowning was an epidemic or something.
