Yes. The spell is casts is equated to Strength. Floating Disk isn't actually a worn spell, and a statue isn't a spell that can be cast by a character, so you're clean for that.

blue crystals are the same way...

If you can rub a crystal and get the shot off before it gets you cool. Otherwise, its a nasty result if the burst nails you between rub and attack.
