    Default ES IV Oblivion Remaster

Anyone else excited about this? Rumor has it the game will shadow drop this week. Possibly & probably today. I haven’t played Oblivion in over a decade, but have fond memories of this game on the Xbox 360.

The few screenshots I've seen of this "remaster" looks like crap. I really tried to like the game when it originally came out, but it was so boring. I thought it might be Morrowind with improved combat, but it wasn't anything like that. Maybe the screenshots I've seen are just bad examples of the remastered game and the rest of it will be nice, but I think you can't polish a turd and expect to get a diamond.

This isn't a game I'm interested in, so what does my opinion of it matter?

Your opinion matters to me and I appreciate you sharing.

Interesting. I played Morrowind on the PC before Oblivion but never really got into it or finished the game. I think part of it was I had a crappy PC at that time and it barely ran the game. I got an Xbox 360 when it launched and was hooked on Oblivion. I remember having to buy another copy because my first Xbox 360 scratched the shit out of the game disc and got the red ring of death. Microsoft reluctantly replaced the Xbox 360 under warranty. Anyways, I have fond memories playing Oblivion as a young adult. I’ll buy the remake just for nostalgia.

I do agree a bit on the screenshots. It has a yellow brown tint on those where the original game was a lush green. Hopefully that is just the weather or time of day in those screenshots. The big reveal is tomorrow so we’ll know more then.

What screenshots? There are a few possibly leaked ones that don't look bad at all, but nothing has been officially released.

Yeah, pretty sure he means the leaked ones as that’s all we have to go by. On those I somewhat agree. The texture and detail looks great but the color pallet seems off. Tomorrow Bethesda is going to reveal all.

Because they were released darkened. Someone went behind and tried to brighten them, but they were purposely darkened.

I spent many six packs and late night hours playing this in the mid to late 2000s. Great game loved it. Near the end I had a sword that I had enchanted in a way that when it hits someone it sent them hurtling away. Good times.

But sadly I don't really play games twice. I've tried but I get bored doing the same thing over again even if it's a different class or whatever. Mainly because the content stays the same. No doubt this is going to be fun for folks who do like to do that!

    Appreciate your insight.

And yet you play Gemstone? If any game is meets the definition of doing the same thing over and over again, it’s that game. Just curious.
