    Default Quarter staffs are underrated

Folks should start looking into quarterstaffs/quarter staffs more. They're so much fun! But I guess it depends on what your idea of fun is.

You can TRIP with them, they swing in 3 seconds and they hit well against cloth, leather and scale. They are harder to use against chain (but doable if you're patient and can't ambush) and noticeable harder to use against plate....it's like slapping someone with a pool noodle, so ambushing with extra crit weighting is a must against plate.

I found this quarter staff at the pawnshop not to long ago and forgot about it sitting in my locker. I need to add some crit weighting to this sucker, get up to at least 10 CER.
    Code:
    >recall staff
As you recall Forgenal's song, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the carmiln quarter staff in your hand, and you learn something about it...

It imparts a bonus of +6 more than usual.
It has been infused with a disrupting substance.
    It is an enhancive item:
It provides a boost of 13 to Two-Handed Weapons Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 55 times.
It provides a boost of 6 to Combat Maneuvers Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 13 times.
It provides a boost of 3 to Strength Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 17 times.
It seems to have a lot of enhancive charges remaining.
It will persist after its last enhancive charge has been expended.
It appears to weigh about 5 pounds.
It is estimated to be worth about 650,000 silvers.
It is predominantly crafted of carmiln.
It is a basic project (116 difficulty) for an adventurer to modify.
It has a permanently unlocked loresong by Forgenal.

    Here it is in action:
    Code:
[Red Forest, Ring of Mist - 24701] (u480203)
Ribbons of ethereal mist dance about the grove like a web of ashen silk, stretching and spiraling along branches and tree trunks. The loud snort of a pack of boars echoes within the deep miasma, suffocating the area. You also see a massive black boar and a massive black boar.

I still prefer my vultite-alloy quarterstaff he's using that is 8x, 17 CER crit weighted with grapple flares. But the one I found at the pawnshop could be right up there or better with a good bit of crit weighting.

Anyone else feel there are weapon types that are just underrated or have a fun quarterstaff they like to use? I feel like you don't see much love for quarterstaffs.

It has its game mechanics drawbacks with heavy armor but I do agree it’s pretty cool.

The have a good aim modifier, so they can be more likely to hit the head than say a claid. That was the main reason I used a quarterstaff at one point
Your mind is completely fucked. It is imperative that you unfuck immediately!

Don't forget about the Vault Kick CMAN, which can only be used with qstaffs and polearms. It uses UCS boots or armor coverage for script/flare/spike damage.

That CMAN sucks - you have to have uninjured hands to do that. If your hand is injured, you just stand their with your dick in your injured hand

You'd be better off using a CMAN like trip or sweep with a quarterstaff

Most of these CMANs are like the fake button at the crosswalks. You just need to ignore them, and choose one of the top tier CMANs. There is like half a dozen of them. Its pretty much like weapons, how there is like half a dozen that you want and a bunch of shit like whips and whip-blades

I used one the twisted crystal staves from OTF during the teens of my Ranger. I used trip and attack till level 15 until I discovered someone had a pile of feras flamberges in their shop which were amazing, I basically one shotted everything till level 16 at which point I respecced into a spike thorn build.
