Venmo is a joke, I'm surprised they're still around tbh.

How so? They make it eminently clear that their F&F is no recourse and state it all over their terms and policies. Very sorry that this happened to the OP but the red flags were clear:

- selling below market during a silver auction period
- had admitted to “trying to sell for a few weeks now”...at those below market rates, zero sense when sales were completed at 3.5/per rate at a regular pace during that time
- buying from an lnet no name instead of a trusted source on the PC, discord, etc.
- unknown character with no history
- no proof of funds (didn't show a note before the money transfer)
- and using Venmo is of course also a red flag in this context

If someone wants to put together a fund to at least partially reimburse the OP, I would donate. That’s what a community does.

I recently bought some new-at-auction treasury bonds where your brokerage bids on the lot. GS could do something similar where every month they can only auction off 100mil silvers and the distribution is based on lot size/bid price per 1mil.

The best thing anyone can do is to just buy silvers from me whenever I have them.

One is too many, I agree. Taking basic precautions, observing the law of "if it's too good to be true...", and dealing with reliable people basically takes that risk to zero though. As bad as PP is sometimes, they came through on the one scammer that attempted chargebacks.

On the second one, to me there is a big difference between someone who does a lot of transactions and someone that is trustworthy, stable, and reliable. Just because the former is true doesn't make the latter necessarily so.

I bought my pre-auction silver from methais, I accounted for a 5% chance he would scam me.... rolled the dice and won! (no fumbles here baby)
