If you only want some for yourself (1-2) they don't take up a lot of space. You only need roosters if you want chicks so in terms of noise the ladies will only beckon you when they are laying a fat one.

We actually aren't even allowed to have roosters in the city, only chickens. I was looking at getting about 4 of them, since we could easily go through 4 eggs a day.

Depending on the breed you get you could have more eggs from 4 ladies (possibly 8 eggs a day). That is a fun number of chickens to have though and chicken TV never gets old. I would like to see pics if you get some ladies.

I'm looking at possibly moving out of the city limits at the end of the year andd probably will get some then. And goats. And one llama.

Sound like me! You may have trouble finding someone who will sell a single Llama due to how they interact as herd animals but it may not be impossible. We have our Alpaca's as herd guardians. Make sure it/they are halter trained, don't make the mistake we did when we have to give them their monthly shots lol
