Default Leaked Majority Opinion- SCOTUS seems on track to overrule Roe v Wade entirely

We're on track for a very dark day.

You can read the draft here. It's not a guarantee of the final ruling, but this is where we are headed: decades into the past.

The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by POLITICO.

The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.

Oh no! A court recognizing that their role isn't to create laws, but instead protect the constitution and decide if laws that the actual lawmakers do create violate the constitution! This certainly IS a dark day!

Oh noes! Now it will be up to the states to...GASP!....pass laws!!!! THE ABSOLUTE HORROR!!!!

I wonder if you've ever taken the time read about what happens when women don't have access to abortion.

Turns out- we're people. And a lot of us die. Even more live in poverty as a result.

But I doubt you have or ever will.

You mean like the right to personal gun ownership? The one that was based on the exact right to privacy Roe is based on?

You should be pissed at Democrats for not passing laws stating abortion is a right whenever they had a majority in congress these past few decades. But why do that when they can now use this opportunity to campaign on this issue so lemmings like you will keep voting for them?

The Democrat party has to be the only political party in the history of the world to keep getting votes for delivering the bare minimum whenever they are in power. Sometimes they deliver less than the bare minimum and still keep getting elected.

If the leaked opinion is the one finally adopted by the court, how will it play out politically? Will it affect the midterms? It will certainly be an issue in the 2024 presidential election, but for whose benefit?

And who do you think leaked it and why?

What? More people will live in poverty unless abortion remains legal?

How does that compute in your tiny brain?

But I doubt you have or ever will.
You are correct.. I have never had to have an abortion.
